The series consists of correpondence, typed and handwritten manuscripts, reports, minutes, publications and programs.

This series chronicles the history of a Clark College President who was valued greatly by the institution, the nation and the world. These records reflect Vivian Henderson's involvement in international, national, regional, state, local, educational, religious and civic affairs. The documents record his service and participation on numerous commissions, conferences, seminars, meetings and speaking engagements. Included are data that record his gatherings with Presidents, other heads of state, Congressional leaders, U.S. Department secretaries, and scholars of education and economics. These records also reflect the work of the Southern center for Studies in Public Policy and the Inauguration Centennial Committee. Also represented are the files of some of the many corporations and institutions with which Henderson was affiliated, such as the Bendix Corporation, Task Force on Southern Rural Development, Ford Foudnation, Souther Regional Council, Citizens and Southern National Bank and Methodist Church.
