Scope and Contents
This series contains materials of the business and congregation life of the First Baptist Church of Gary, Indiana, where Penn was minister from 1952 to 1971. A church history, constitution, bylaws, and other governing documents are included as well as workshops the church conducted and weekly church programs. Of interest are materials relating to the forming of the Fellowship Garden Apartments - a low income and senior citizen housing community that was formed by the church and quickly fell into bankruptcy and disarray.
