Scope and contents
This series dates from the 1940’s to the 1980’s with the bulk of the collection dating from the 1970’s. The series mostly contains letters to Dr. E.A. Jones from the many organizations that he was affiliated with such as the Institute of European Studies, College Language Association, Consular Corps of Atlanta, Operation Crossroads, Phi Beta Kappa and First Congregational Church, U.C.C. There are some personal letters from friends and family to both Dr. Jones and Virginia as well as letters from Virginia while he was traveling in Europe.

This series contains restricted materials, such as cassette tapes, scrapbooks, and reel to reel. These materials cannot be viewed. Materials have been restricted due to the type of media and the inability to access them at this time. Materials in this series, such as student grades and other materials containing personal information, have also been restricted due to the nature of the information in the materials and cannot be accessed. The series also contains fragile materials that cannot be accessed at this time.
