Scope and contents
This series contains biographical information about Dr. E. A. Jones that includes materials related to his death, family papers, memorabilia, awards, greeting cards, invitations and a glimpse into some of his travels. The series also includes a tribute and appreciation celebration held for E.A. upon his retirement from Morehouse College at the Chicago Morehouse College Alumni Founder’s Day Banquet. Dr. Jones was appointed as Honorary Consul to the Republic of Senegal by President Leopold Sedar Senghor. Within his sub-series as the Honorary Consul to the Republic of Senegal, materials can be found that are related to his time as honorary consul as well as some of the materials that he collected about President Leopold Sedar Senghor, which includes biographical information, speeches and writings.
