Scope and contents

From the Series:

As a historian, Dr. Bacote naturally pursued activities which his academic talents could be put to use. Such activities included membership in historical societies and academic groups such as the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, the Atlanta Historical Society, the Georgia Association of HIstorians, and the Organization of American Historians. This series documents some of the administrative, social, and scholarly activity of these groups. Dr. Bacote was also a consultant to several projects dealing with Historical Preservation, particularly in the Atlanta area. His service to the Georgia Records Advisory Board and the Georgia National Reigster Review Board are partly documented, along with the general functions of the two bodies.
