Scope and contents
This series contains textual materials from many of the organizations that Dr. Brazeal held memberships and affiliations with, including an extensive collection of materials from the Highlander Research and Education Center, previously known as the Highlander Folk School, of New Market, Tennessee. This series also contains documents from the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, the Fair Employment Practice Committee (FEPC), the Southern Regional Council, and Sigma Pi Phi. Other organizations that are documented in this series are the Mutual Federal Savings and Loan Association, Phi Beta Kappa, American Civil Liberties Union, Friendship Baptist Church, Utopian Literary Club, The Links, Inc., Equal Employment Opportunities Committee, and Experimental Manpower Laboratory (EMLAB). These include correspondence, reports, programs, invitations, and organizational histories. In addition, Dr. and Mrs. Brazeal were very active in the Utopian Literary Club and the Links, Inc., and materials in the collection documents his and her affiliation with these organizations.
