Scope and Contents
The series consists of files related to the projects funded by the Voter Education Project (1963-1989). These records include financial records, original project proposals, reports, correspondence, newspaper clippings and other printed materials such as flyers, posters and programs. Although VEP primarily funded projects in the American South, there are some records for activities in other states, including California, New York and Washington, DC.
The records for 1976 include VEP's largest in-house funded project, Project 23.
