Photographs

The photographs in this series are mainly of Towns’ friends and associates. The pictures of Atlanta University faculty and students include images of Towns as a student and teacher. Also of interest are the photographs of the Oglethorpe School, the kindergarten at AU. The photographs of James Weldon Johnson include both cartes d’visite and snapshots. Box 10 contains three oversize photographs: one includes Nellie McNair; one is of the Towns family... on their porch circa 1918; the other is of a reunion of the Harvard University Class of 1900.
