Scope and contents
The Writings by Mays series contains published copies and drafts of articles, books and speeches by Mays. Mays wrote a column for the Pittsburgh Courrier in the late 1960s, copies of several of his articles are included in the "Articles" sub-series of this series. A few biographical cards, written by Mays about prominent African-Americans are also in this series.
