Scope note
This series is comprised of lectures, notes, departmental memos, correspondence and bibliographies. Memos are in date order. Lecture notes are organized alphabetically by title of lecture. Rev. Hawkins taught at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey from 1971 until his death 1977. He lectured on a variety of topics, including liberation theology and African American history and culture. Lecture topics include the role of the Black church, James Baldwin, Richard Wright, Marcus Garvey, W.E.B.DuBois, and Black theater.
