Maynard Jackson mayoral administrative records: Series F: Photographs
Scope and Contents
The Photograph series contains over 10,000 photographs taken at many local functions during Maynard Jackson's Mayoral Terms - from 1974 to 1982, and again from 1990 to 1994 - as well as photographs of his international travels. The photographs series also contains photographs of Maynard Jackson with many city, state, and federal officials, a number of foreign officials, many local groups, and a number of celebrities and noted individuals. There are... groupings of unidentified photographs primarily containing images of Maynard Jackson at unidentified events and with unidentified people. There are also photographs of Maynard Jackson and family members that predate 1974. Of note are photos of Muhammad Ali, Melba Moore, Jimmy Carter and Ray Charles.

The Photographs series is arranged into fourteen subseries: 1. Campaigns; 2. Individuals; 3. Events; 4. Groups; and 5. Family; 6. General Photos; 7. Places; 8. Photo Albums; 9. Unidentified; 10. Scrapbooks; 11. Contact Sheets; 12. Slides; 13. Negatives; 14. Documents.
Materials within the Campaign subseries are arranged chonologically and then alphabetically. The Documents subseries is arranged into two groupings: Included with photographs and without photographs. The other subseries are arranged alphabetically by subject.
