Financial: Paystubs, 1932-1942
Scope and contents
This series is comprised of materials directly related to Mrs. Emma King, dating back to before she married Bishop Willis J. King. These records include reccomendations for her teaching position, teaching certificates and contracts, paystubs, and correspondece about her employment with the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA). Mrs. King also has handwritten drafts of sermons or speeches she delivered and programs from those events.
This series also includes infomation about Mrs. King's family, dating to her maternal grandmother. There is a file entitled "Family History" that includes letters and correspondence relating to different members of her family. Both her mother (Emma P. Arnold) and father (George Arnold) were respected members of the Atlanta community and have materials relating to thier life and death.
