From the Series:

This series contains materials about John H. Calhoun including biographical information, news articles about him, identification cards and badges. Also included in this series are certificates, correspondence, memorabilia, programs, and press releases.

Additionally, there are some materials about the various businesses he owned and operated including John Calhoun Real Estate and Calhoun Furniture Company. Also included are financial records related to Calhoun Furniture Company and other organizations that he was affiliated with. There is also the unpublished draft of his book "Atlanta - The Cradle of Black Leadership In America" as well as articles he wrote while working as a reporter and various research materials in which he compiled for his book including a number of news articles.
