Scope and contents

Soul City was a planned community proposed by civil rights activist Floyd McKissick and funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as one of a thirteen model city projects in the 1970s. This subseries contains correspondence and memorandums, meeting minutes and agendas, and printed and published materials about Soul City and McKissick Enterprises. The subseries also includes financial records, proposals, reports and studies as well as organizational information.
