Scope and contents

This series contains materials about Hallie B. Brooks. It features biographical information such as a program from her funeral service. Additionally, it includes documents from her time at the University of Chicago, where she received her Master of Arts degree in Librarianship. The series contains information on her husband, Frederic V. Brooks, such as his career and organizations he was a part of. Of particular note are the materials related to the organizations Mrs. Brooks was a part of, such as the American Library Association (ALA), the Chautauqua Circle, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Freedom Fund Dinner.
