The Professional Files series is the largest in the collection containing the professional works and activities of Fahamu Pecou. This series includes memorabilia, promotional materials, writings, sketchbooks as well as printed and published materials. The printed and published materials is the largest sub-series within this series. Included are Pecou’s published catalogs “Fahamenon” and “Fahamu Pecou: Visible Man;” newspapers containing articles about Fahamu, magazines that include articles in which Fahamu was featured (page numbers included), articles that he wrote and promotions of his exhibition openings.

Promotional materials include exhibition cards and catalogs, promotional cards, art exhibitions and a “Fahamu Is the Shit” sticker, which was a campaign where he posted stickers all around the city of Atlanta. Also included in this series is the memorabilia sub-series which includes eyeglasses and the U.S. Flag that were used as props in two exhibitions, “Black Presidential” and “Pursuit of Happiness;” Mary J. Blige backstage pass, which was designed for her tour in 2000; a sharpie pen that Fahamu used to write “Fahamu Pecou is the Shit” all over Paris; and a few t-shirts that were designed by Pecou. Also, there are a few magazines and newspapers. Within the sketchbooks sub-series, there are eleven sketchbooks. This sub-series mainly consist of various sketches, but there are also cartoons and photographs including a drawing of the photographs, poems, short stories and notes. The writings sub-series include a draft copy of “Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone” which is about the murder of Pecou’s mother. There is an article that he wrote for a magazine including a letter from the editor and notecards.
