"Hail! Roarin' Panther"

This series includes sheet music, news articles, copyright and royalties information related to eight pieces of music Carver composed and/or arranged. (Several of these items have been photocopied for research use. The original items are filed in Series E Oversize and Fragile Items.) Among the titles are compositions performed by Chick Webb and his Orchestra, “Spinning the Web” and “Swingin’ on the Reservation.” Also included is “Hail! Roaring Panthers,” the Clark College fight song that continues to be performed by the university band. Of note is a sound recording (CD), “The Flute of Wayman Carver.” This compilation of songs was duplicated from various recordings on which Carver performed. Jan Evensmo compiled the songs into one recording and Jarrod Turner (Wayman Carver’s great grandson) digitally re-mastered the CD and created the cover and label.
