Textile Workers Union of America, 1955

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 27
Identifier: Series 1

Scope and contents

From the Series:

The correspondence in this series was generated by Kenneth Douty and Frank McCallister while investigating Communist infiltration of the Southern Conference for Human Welfare (SCHW). The correspondents were for the most part former members and officers of the SCHW. The letters, both to and from Douty, regard his requests for information and interviews. Because of the timeliness of the study, the bulk of the correspondence is from early 1955. The correspondence between Douty and John Roche, the project's director, concerns progress reports and remunerations while Douty worked on his study.
