Organizational affiliations, 1958-1972
Scope and contents
This series consists of sports organizations with which Harvey was affiliated. The bulk of this series is comprised of materials relating to his membership in the Extra Point Club. This club, organized in 1947, was an Atlanta group that recognized the achievements of Black college athletes in sprots and scholarship. Programs of the Georgia Invitational Tournament, newspaper clippings about the organization's achievements, correspondence with members about meetings and events, as well as the constitution and by-laws of the club are included in this series. Other organizations documented in the club are included in this series. Other organizations documented in the series are The 100% Wrong Club, American Tennis Association, Youth Sports Activity Inc., and Sigm Xi (National Honorary Scientific Society). (See also series D.
