Negro Rural School Fund (Jeanes Foundation), Arthur D. Wright, Correspondence and Administrative records, 1926-1952
Scope and contents
The material in this series consists mostly of correspondence generated as a result of Wright's service as President of the Anna T. Jeanes Fund (1931-1937) and Executive Director of the Southern Education Foundation (1937-1946). Most all of the correspondence relates to the business of the Board of Trustees of the Jeanes Fund, such as notifying members of meetings and nominating individuals to serve. Among other subjects addressed in the letters is the hiring of Dr. John C. Dixon as Executive Director of the Southern Education Foundation. Much of the material in the administrative records subseries deals with issues relating to Jeanes Teachers in the Southern states.
