Scope and contents
This series contains records generated from the work of the Anna T. Jeanes Fund after it merged with the John F. Slater Fund to form the Southern Education Foundation. The records include requests from the counties and states for funds to support Jeanes Teachers in their area, data cards which give the dates when individuals taught as Jeanes Teachers, lists of Jeanes Teachers, and miscellaneous records related to the Fund.

Access restrictions
Boxes 147-149 contain transcripts which include personal information and are restricted. Boxes 150-157 contain personal dossiers of applicants for the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation and are restricted. Boxes 174 and 175 are restricted for preservation purposes.
