A well-loved teacher and matron at Atlanta University from the first year it opened, Case (b. 1830 d. 1914) came from Massachusetts through the auspices of the American Missionary Association (AMA). This series includes her autobiography, a typed transcript of her notes, as well as a fascinating biographical manuscript written by Horace Bumstead. Her diaries (1851-1853) focus mainly on her religious devotions as a young woman. Also included are her poetry, her teaching certificate from the AMA, and notes on her funeral service.
