Scope and contents
The report series consists of report booklets that detail meeting agendas and minutes, financial statements, features in newspapers and newsletters such as Connect, The Atlanta Voice, and A Women in Business Chapter Newsletter. Of particular note, are notable influential guest speakers at each meeting, event flyers, organization rules, calendars, job calls, career tips, resume examples, educational scholarship applications, Chapter Award nomination applications, and various poems written by members and members’ family members.
The program series contain event agendas, various advertising flyers, and member highlights. Of particular note, are the annual anniversary business association night events and type-written Golden Dome Chapter Orientation and mission statements.

Historical note
The American Business Women’s Association is a non-profit organization, founded on September 22, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri by Hilary A. Bufton Jr., who acknowledged the significant impact that women had in business. Bufton Jr. developed an organization to help women succeed in their educational and career goals by partnering with Irma Rutter Beisel, Shirley Curry Cupp, and Frances Meisenheimer Stuckey to establish the American Business Women’s Association. The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to unite businesswomen of diverse backgrounds and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others personally and professionally grow through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.
The American Business Women’s Association: The Golden Dome Chapter, named after the Georgia State Capitol’s Georgia Dome, was chartered on April 9, 1972 and is one of the eleven Georgia Chapters of the American Business Women’s Association. The American Business Women’s Association: Golden Dome Chapter Records contains organization reports and programs from 1983-1995.
