Scope and contents From the Series: This small series provides a glimpse into Calhoun's political activities. Calhoun was very active in the Republican Party on the local, state, and national levels. In 1974, Calhoun was elected to the Atlanta City Council where he served on the Economic Development and Finance Committees. Scope and contents From the Series: This is the largest series within the collection consisting of the many Organizations that Calhoun was affiliated with. These organizations documents Calhoun's civil rights, political, volunteer and civic activities. Calhoun was either a member of these organizations or held some type of leadership role.
