The Commission on Race and Housing was an independent citizens' group formed in 1955 for the purpose of conducting studies regarding the problems of housing for racial and ethnic minority groups. Studies were conducted that examined housing conditions, the social and economic consequences of racial segregation, and the role of government and law in the housing issues.
