"Address to Coomittee of House...", circa 1915

A major component of the Neighborhood Union's work involved giving speeches and lectures. The material located in this series represents the types of speeches and lectures that the volunteers would be called upon to deliver. Included among them is an address by an unidentified memeber to a committee of the House of Representatives of Georgia regarding the passage of a bill that prevented the teaching by any white teacher in a "colored" school and any "colored" teacher in a white school. Others addressed such issues as lynching, tributes to Mrs. Hope on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Neighborhood Union, and the preparation of food in the home.
