The majority of the clippings relate to events in the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, including Birmingham, Alabama; Tallahassee, Florida; and Chicago, Illinois; and to the career of Martin Luther King, Jr., including extensive coverage of King receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
