Scope and contents

From the Series:

This series is organized alphabetically by the name of the organization and contains a few items about organizations that A. Walter Parks was affiliated. Included are materials on the Ashby Grove and Camilla Street Community Club, the Georgia Committee on Interracial Cooperation, and the New Lincoln Golf and Country Club. Of interest are the by-laws for the Shoe Service Men of Georgia, a program for the 75th anniversary of Wheat Street Baptist Church, a copy of the 1950 Atlanta publication American Front Magazine, and a handwritten essay by Parks sister Bessie entitled “Furber Cottage [Atlanta University], An Ideal Home.” Most of the materials in this series are of the Metropolitan Atlanta Association for the Blind, in which Parks was a board member for 30 years.
