Scope and contents
A. Walter Parks was a dedicated member of Friendship Baptist Church and served in several capacities including a member of the Deacons Board and as Scout Master for the church’s Boy Scout Troop. This series comprised the largest part of the collection and includes copies of the newsletter Friendship Bulletin dating 1925-1932, programs of worship services and cultural events dating 1941 -1973, funeral programs, Deacons Board minutes and reports, and a few membership rosters, financial reports, newsletters and news articles. These materials document the pastorships of E. R. Carter, Maynard Holbrook Jackson Sr., Samuel W.
