Scope and contents

From the Series:

This series consist of photographs, cassette tapes, reel to reel and scrapbooks documenting Dr. E. A. Jones’ family life, travels and research interests. The photograph sub-series mostly consists of photos of Dr. Jones as well as his family and friends. There are also photos of various events that Dr. Jones attended such as the Chicago Morehouse College Alumni Founders Day Banquet and a Tribute to him. The grounds and buildings subseries include photographs of Morehouse College, Benjamin E. Brawley Hall and other notable buildings. The reel to reel sub-series consists of Dr. Jones’ travels to Europe and Africa. There are also cassette tapes consisting of interviews that Dr. Jones conducted with Rev. Martin Luther King Sr., (a.k.a “Daddy King”). A few scrapbooks are included in this series documenting E.A and Virginia’s life. Of particular note, the scrapbooks contain many letters of appreciation to Dr. Jones for his 52 years of service to Morehouse College.
