The Graduate Assistantship Program, Inc. (GAP) started in the 1970s. It’s a fellowship program through NCOBPS that was established by a separate foundation. In its start, the program offered graduate assistantships to prospective Black political science graduate students. Recipients received $1,000 each to attend universities of their choice. The program now runs as a travel grant program to support graduate/undergraduate student attendance and participation in the NCOBPS Annual Meetings....
